SLO Youth Baseball Newsletter

Exciting News! We are around 420 players in 2018, up from 380 in 2017. Baseball in growing in SLO!

Teams have been established and you should be hearing from your coach shortly!

Special thanks to all of our volunteer coaches and board members. Without their dedication and commitment, we would not be able to offer such a great experience for your player!

Opening Night Ceremony!

Friday, March 2nd

Sinsheimer Stadium

5-7:30 pm Under the Lights!

The 2018 Opening Ceremony will be held Friday night, March 2nd at Sinsheimer Stadium. Players will be invited to join our activities down on the field from 5-6:15 pm where we will host field competitions such as baserunning, throwing accuracy, Around the Horn, and Wiffleball Homerun Derby!

Edna Valley 4H BBQing club will be selling Hamburger dinners (burger, chips and a drink) for $5 per dinner. Plan ahead and get there early Dinners will be ready to serve at 5 pm.

Snack Bar and Music!!!!!

At 6:15 pm players will be lined up along the outfield HR fence and the Ceremony will begin around 6:30 pm.

We ask all players to wear their uniforms only! No equipment will be needed! Please don't bring your gloves or bats!

We invite all players to join us at 5, but are not required. We ask all players and coaches to be at the Stadium no later than 6 pm to help organize the players at 6:15 pm.

We will be joined by SLO Blues and a local children's book "A Hit For You!" author, Sean Pellerin (www.ahitforyou.com) Make sure to stop by their booths. We hope to be joined by as many of our League Sponsors this year!

We are looking forward to a great Community Event!

This Coming weekend, Feb. 24th and 25th, get 20% at Dick's if you are a SLOYB member!

Schedules

All Team schedules (except Babe Ruth and Majors Divisions) have been posted to our Website. If you go under Game Center tab, click posted schedules. You should also be able to view the team site from our website and the SIplay app. Downloard it today to get team announcements and reminders.

SLOYB Sponsorship Opportunities

SLOYB continues to make upgrades to a number of our field locations: Visit the home page to see the changes we have made to Stockton, French, Throop, and Upper Sinsheimer fields. Sponsorships assist us in making these upgrades to provide a more enjoyable experience. Additionally, they assist us in providing scholarships!

Special Thanks to Doug Morrow, Gary Foster, Brian Riley, Ryan Miller, David Forster, Nate Blaney, Wyatt Tully, Dimitri Egon, Rob Garrison, Brian Villa, Greg Peter, Yatin Naran, and Nick Taylor for their help building new mounds at Stockton, French, and Throop and giving Upper Sinsheimer Shed a facelift. Additionally, all of the Rookie coaches who helped clean up CL Smith 2 and replacing the dugout benches.
